                 Alan Reed was born in Northumberland, into a family with a history of painting. He is a strong Christian and his faith finds expression in his commitment to his family, local church and through his watercolours.

Alan has had selling exhibitions since 1981, including the Mall Galleries, London and the Malcolm Innes Gallery, Edinburgh and London, the Biscuit Factory in Newcastle, Henley Royal Regatta and part of a group exhibition NYAD 2000 in New York. The quality of Alan's work received national recognition with the selection of a number of his cityscapes for exhibition in the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition for three successive years.
